The last week in the season of Lent is called Holy Week, and it is quickly approaching. We hope you will join us at First Church as we remember the sacrifice God made for us and focus our hearts and minds on the significance of this season. Lent is a time of preparation. And during Holy Week, in preparation for the coming Easter celebration, we are following Jesus on the way to agony, passion, and death — and then new life.

April 10 | 8:30, 11:00, & ICON at 11:00am, Facebook, & FUMCPensacola.com
Palm / Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, a time where we remember the sacrifice God made for us. As Palm Sunday worship begins, we remember that when Jesus made his final entrance into the city of Jerusalem the people welcomed him with shouts of praise and the waving of palm branches hailing him as king. But as the story of the passion unfolds, their shouts of praise turn to demands for his crucifixion; he receives a crown of thorns as he is handed over to be mocked and killed.
