Staff Parish Relations Committee of First United Methodist Church of Pensacola is pleased to announce that we have found our new youth pastor. The Rev. Heather Nysewander has been selected to lead our youth ministry. Pastor Heather earned her Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and her undergraduate degree in Writing and Linguistics with a minor in History from Georgia Southern University. Since 2019, she has served churches in the North Georgia Conference. She is a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church and is pursuing full ordination.
Pastor Heather has a deep love and passion for discipling young people. She is an excellent teacher and is excited to build our youth program. She will begin her ministry with us on July 1, 2024 and we will have a welcome reception for her on Sunday, July 6, 2024.
Here are some fun facts about Heather: In her free time, she likes to go hiking, explore new areas, read, and dabble in creative writing. She has trained in Wing Chun, a style of Kung Fu, for 8 years. She has enjoyed completing four Tough Mudder obstacle races and has a cat named Miss Chai.
