First Church’s active and vibrant student ministry provides an environment for youth to learn, pray, serve, fellowship, develop friendships, and grow. With a focus on mission and serving others, our youth learn to live their faith.

Mid-Week
Wednesdays | Starting August 19 | 6:00 – 7:00pm | Youth Building
After fellowship supper at 5:00pm, youth will have mid-week worship time! We will sing praise songs, play games, and study different series from Grow Curriculum. Our first study will be Wonder, a 4-week series from the Book of Psalms, where students will learn what it means to worship – not just with songs and prayers, but their entire lives.
Morning small group Bible Studies
To kick off our Youth Morning Bible Studies this year, students will be studying The Wesleyan Prayer Challenge by Chris Folmsbee which will encourage students to carefully consider the words of the Wesley Covenant Prayer and put them into practice.

Facilities
The Youth Ministries department is located in the two story building, directly across Wright Street from the main sanctuary. The building provides a space for youth to fellowship, learn and grow in a fun and casual way. The first floor contains a main worship room, youth cafe, and kitchen. The second floor has classrooms, meeting rooms, and pool tables.
Scholarships
First United Methodist Church has a variety of scholarships available to members of First Church for continued education. Most scholarships are specifically designed for graduating seniors or those pursuing graduate school. Applications are made available each spring and a scholarship committee selects recipients in April.
