About the Speaker // Hannah Buchanan
Hannah Buchanan is a Pastor at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. But she had a zig-zag journey into ministry.  Hannah graduated from Wheaton in 2009 with a major in Economics and a minor in Biblical Studies. Her passion was theology; and while her professors nudged her in that direction, she overlooked the call. (Probably because she’d never seen a woman go that way before.)      Upon graduating, Hannah joined Teach For America to make a difference. She taught Special Education on the South Side of Chicago and left the classroom to coach other teachers in the district. Not convinced education was the solution to the Big Problems of Life, Hannah went to graduate school for a Masters of Social Work. In order to pay for graduate school, she took a job as an Executive Assistant at a local church in Dallas. Two years (and one almost irrelevant graduate degree) later, Hannah rose through the ranks into a pastoral role at one of the largest churches in Dallas where she preaches, leads and establishes creative vision for the church overall.     Hannah and her husband Ryan delight in their three kids, Eliza (5), Woods (3), and Moses (1). Together, they enjoy bike riding, reading board books, and eating just about anything.
