Celebrate Easter Downtown at First United Methodist Church of Pensacola!
We are located on the northeast corner of Palafox and Wright Streets, and we would love to have you with us at one of our five morning services. You can read more about them below. We also have a free Easter brunch from 7:30–11:00am in our Activities Center.
For more than 200 years, our church has been a place for Pensacola to gather and share in community. It’s a welcoming place for lifelong churchgoers, the curious, the uncertain, and those healing from past church experiences.
Come celebrate Easter Downtown with us or visit anytime.
There’s a place here for all people. There’s a place here for you.
easter services – April 5
Sunrise Easter Service
6:30am | Front Lawn outside Main Sanctuary*
The first service is a special gathering on the lawn in front of the Main Sanctuary. Pastor Geoffrey will bring an Easter message as the sun rises and music will be provided by the ICON Band. Some chairs will be provided, but we invite you to bring your own chairs if you’re able.
*In the event of rain, we’ll have the Sunrise Service in The Upper Room on the 2nd floor of the Consulate.
Main Sanctuary – Early Worship
8:30am
The first service in Main Sanctuary has a tradition of Youth Choir anthems (and the Closing Hymn, “He Is Alive” that all former Youth Choir members are invited to come forward and sing). It also features our special guests, the Perdido Brass. Pastor Geoffrey will bring his Easter message, and we’ll share in a time of Holy Communion. Nursery is provided.
Main Sanctuary – Traditional Worship
9:45 & 11:00am
These services feature music from our Adult Sanctuary Choir, special organ pieces, and our guests, the Perdido Brass. Each service ends with the soaring “Hallelujah Chorus.” Pastor Geoffrey will bring his Easter message, and we’ll share in a time of Holy Communion. Nursery is provided.
ICON Modern Worship
11:00am | The Upper Room
ICON is a tradition-rich, modern worship service held in the newly renovated Upper Room, featuring music led by the ICON Band. This Sunday, Pastor Brennan concludes his sermon series Made for Wonder, which has explored each of the new stained-glass windows in the space. On Sunday, we will unveil the eighth and final window, centered on the resurrection. There will also be a children’s sermon. Nursery is provided.
FREE Easter Brunch
7:30am – 11:00am | Gym (Henry Roberts Activities Center)
All are invited to join us for our annual Easter Brunch. We will serve First Church Easter favorites with a few new tasty treats! Reservations are not required.
Childcare & Nursery
All children are encouraged to attend worship with their families; however, nursery is provided for children under 5 at the 8:30, 9:45, & 11:00am services. Access to the nursery, located on the 1st floor of the Education Building (indicated in red on map), will be available through the gym or the entrance on Belmont by the playground. If you need help locating the nursery, please see an usher or greeter for assistance.
Flower Cross
You are invited to bring flowers on Easter morning to add to the flower cross in front of the Main Sanctuary. Each year, the congregation brings flowers to build a beautiful flower cross as a sign of the resurrection and the new life we have in Jesus. This is a wonderful tradition and a great picture to remember your Easter Sunday.

Easter Lilies
You may honor, celebrate or memorialize individuals or events by purchasing an Easter Lily for $14 each. The Easter Lilies will then be placed on the Lawn, Main Sanctuary, and Wesley Abbey during Easter. You may take home your Easter Lily following the 11:00am Easter morning services. A complete list of all lilies will be available in the bulletins and online. All orders are due by Palm Sunday (March 29).

VISITOR INFORMATION
Please visit our welcome desk in the Main Office where a greeter can assist you in learning more about First Church. You can also email our Director of Membership, Lacey Adair (LAdair@FUMCPensacola.com).
This Methodist congregation was founded in December of 1821. Now in 2026, we are marking an incredible 200+ years of worship and service in this great community! We are the oldest Protestant church in the area and the oldest Methodist church in Florida. It’s a historic church that preserves the past and embraces the future, and we are being called forward into a new era of mission and ministry. Come be a part of what God is doing here. There’s a place for everyone.

First Church is answering the call and taking the challenge again this year! Our goal is to help welcome fifty new people into the life of our church during the Easter season. We will have people joining starting on Easter Sunday, through Pentecost, on Sunday, May 24. Join us at the next Coffee with the Pastors to learn more about First Church, contact Lacey Adair, Director of Membership with any questions, and visit the church’s website or the Church Office to fill out a membership form.
PARKING
Parking can be an issue on big Sundays like Easter Sunday. Don’t let it deter you. It’s good to know your options.
In addition to public street parking, we also have three main parking lots on campus (indicated in the darker blue on the map). View the map below to find out what options will suit you best!
